OTTAWA (Ontario) – The latest word on Alberta Scene’s ALBERTA COUNTRY SUPERSTARS programming is that Gord Bamford will be joining the bill and opening for Terri Clark on Tuesday, May 10 at 8 p.m. at the National Arts Centre’s Southam Hall.
Gord's new album, Life is Good, was co-produced in Nashville with Tennessee tunesmith, Byron Hill. The first single, Heroes, a top-ten hit in Canada, talks about remembering those high school days, something that was triggered after Gord attended his ten-year high school reunion. The second single, My Heart’s A Genius, a co-write with Hill, is a featured video on CMT.
“Talk about a perfect fit – the final piece of the puzzle,” says Heather Moore, the Executive Director and Producer of Alberta Scene. “We’re delighted that Gord was available to join the bill with Terri to give us the finale we were looking for. It should be an outstanding evening!”
The National Arts Centre’s Alberta Scene is the second in a series of biennial regional festivals to take place in the nation’s capital. This year, six hundred established and emerging artists from Alberta will take part in over 90 events ranging from ballet to opera, classical music to folk, jazz, blues, country, rock, and so much more including visual and culinary arts, literature, film, theatre and comedy. For 13 days beginning April 28, 2005 and ending on May 10, 2005, it will be as if Alberta has moved to the nation’s capital.
